Mother of a child, supported by the Foundation

Her first encounter with the foundation was shortly after the birth of her son, who has Down syndrome. For several years, they have been using various early childhood intervention services in one of the foundation’s centers. Driven by her desire to help other parents who face similar problems, she joined the Foundation’s Public Council, and later became part of the Foundation’s Advisory Council.

He has over 20 years of experience in television journalism, while his professional career began at BNT in 1994. For more than 10 years, he has been a sports commentator and presenter on public television, and later one of the main figures in the Bulgarian branch of Eurosport. He has worked for all major television companies in our country as a presenter and producer of some of the most successful shows on the national air.

One of the most read and translated Bulgarian authors. His books have been published in more than 30 languages. The first Bulgarian author to win the prestigious Booker International Literary Prize 2023. Author of collections of poems, books of short stories and the novels “Natural Novel”, “Physics of Sadness” and “Time Shelter”. His books are studied in universities in Europe, USA, Argentina, etc. Co-author, with his daughter Raya, of the children’s book, Weddings of Animals and Things.

Specialist with over 30 years of experience in supporting child protection system reforms, the development of social services for children and families, social work and social service workforce strengthening, disability inclusion and inclusive social protection.  She began working in Bulgaria in 1995 at the beginning of its extensive child protection system reforms and has periodically provided technical support and conducted research since then.

Dr. Diana Argirova

Pediatrician in a neonatology ward

Pediatrician and neonatologist in Plovdiv with 30 years of experience and interests in the field of neonatology. She acquired specialties in Pediatric Diseases and Neonatology in 2000 and 2005. In 2011, she graduated Social Medicine and Health Management at the Faculty of Public Health at Plovdiv Medical University. Over the years, Dr. Argirova has participated as a lecturer in a number of trainings for current and future parents on topics related to newborn care, nutrition in the first year, etc.

Professional in the field of the financial sector and investments with accumulated in-depth knowledge and many years of experience in the field of banking and asset management. During her professional career of over 20 years, she held managerial positions in international banks in Bulgaria, incl. ING Bank and Raiffeisen Bank (Bulgaria).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elena Andonova

Director of the Research Center for Cognitive Science at NBU

Organizer of 10 international schools of cognitive science and 3 national conferences on early childhood development. Her scientific research is in the field of native language acquisition, speech processing by monolinguals and bilinguals, the relationship between language and other cognitive abilities. She participated in 25 research projects and authored 2 monographs and 60 publications in scientific journals.

Journalist with over 15 years experience in print media. Her professional career started at Grazia and OK! magazines, while she is currently an editor at Forbes Bulgaria. In 2015, she entered the field of education as a participant in the “Teac for Bulgaria” program as a primary school teacher and trainer. Education continues to be her personal mission – she develops original educational materials “365 ideas” and pursues a master’s degree in Montessori pedagogy at Sofia University.

She has been amanaging Lidl Bulgaria since 2007, while starting her career at Lidl Germany in 2002 as a regional sales manager and then continued his professional development at Lidl headquarters. She is a member of several management boards: the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria, the “America for Bulgaria” Foundation, the Bulgarian Forum of Business Leaders, the Association for Modern Trade, and from the beginning of 2023 the Global Compact Network in Bulgaria.

Before that, she was the director for Bulgaria at eMAG and a manager in companies such as XEROX, Siemens Mobile, Logitech & Toshiba Europe. Currently CEO of Nova Broadcasting Group, part of United Media.
