For the third year in a row, Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF) stands behind the mission of For Our Children Foundation to ensure development and a happy childhood for the most vulnerable children in Bulgaria. As part of its “Nutrition for Zero Hunger” program, HNF once again provides healthy and nutritious food for vulnerable young children by donating $ 10,000 to its Bulgarian partner – For Our Children Foundation. 

The funds will be spent on a nine-month project “Proper nutrition for complete child development“, which will end at the end of May 2022. The purpose of the combined efforts and resources HNF and For Our Children Foundation is to ensure healthy, age-appropriate nutrition of the vulnerable children with whom the foundation works and raising the awareness of parents and caregivers about proper nutrition as part of comprehensive care in a family environment. The project activities will encourage the creation of proper nutrition habits and right attitude towards food in children and families. 

Baby foods, formulas and other food products needed for their proper development and growth will receive on a monthly basis according to individual needs the little children from vulnerable families in the community , as well as children with developmental difficulties and problems. This will ensure proper nutrition and will minimize the risks to the lives and health of these children, covered by the Community Support Centers of For Our Children Foundation in Sofia and Plovdiv. 

Within the project, HNF will also support children in foster families, for the development of which the For Our Children Foundation takes care, as well as children with special needs, who receive stimulating support for their development in the Foundation’s Daycare Center. Traditionally, funds will be provided for the balanced diet of the children in the Children’s House, as an integral part of the overall care for their growth and development. Through culinary workshops and through involvement of children in the process of cooking, they will be encouraged to try different healthy foods, to get knowledge about different products and their proper combination, and to form good attitudes and nutrition habits.

Since 1994, the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation has donated funds to provide food, to support nutrition education and other projects to improve children’s health around the world. Today, the HNF provides funding for 168 orphanages and abandoned children, hospitals, schools and organizations in more than 58 countries, covering nearly 220,000 children in 2020 alone. 

Since 2019, the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation has been supporting For Our Children Foundation in caring for more than 650 children. This makes HNF a key partner of the Foundation for providing daily nutrition to vulnerable children, covered through all the foundation’s services in Sofia and Plovdiv.
