Valentine’s life begins in an unusual way. The little boy was born not in a hospital, but in his home, he was not greeted with impatience and love, but on the contrary – denied by his father and at the expense of his mother, a burden with which she decided she could not and did not want to cope . On the 20th day after his birth, Valio was separated from his home and lived in a home for medical and social care.

Valentine spends the first year and a half of his life away from his mother’s caress and father’s love, away from a real family that gives him security and protection. The child makes his first steps without them being marked and celebrated, he copes alone with the loneliness and lack of warm embrace and love, and shares his home, his toys, his destiny with many other children who, like him, have no one . Sad children with an even sadder present.

And so to this day. Today Valio left the institution forever and entered the home of Dimitrinka Georgieva with many smiles – one of the foster parents, which the team from the Center for Foster Care of the Foundation “For Our Children” supports. A mother by recognition and a loving wife, she gave birth to 3 other children before him, who today live cared for by their new family and have a happy childhood. And let’s not forget that she herself has a wonderful 10-year-old boy, with whom they go on nature trips every week.

She greeted Valio with a strong hug he had never received before, and a basket of toys just for him.

We believe that with the love and tenderness that Dimitrinka and her family give him, Valentin will soon become a happy little boy, ready to meet his future mother and father, who will give him everything he missed in the first a year and a half of his life.

Since the beginning of the year, the For Our Children Foundation has accommodated 15 children deprived of parental care in dedicated foster families. So far, 33 children enjoy full care and love. The team of our Foster Care Center supports 35 foster families with training, psychological and material support, and provides a chance for children to work with a rehabilitator, pediatrician, early childhood intervention specialist to help them develop fully.
