Complex support for the Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria

The project is implemented with the financial support and partnership of the International Rescue Committee and complements the efforts of the emergency programme Mission Ukraine, which was launched at the beginning of the conflict with donor funds.

The main objective of the project is to provide humanitarian assistance and social support to over 1,000 women, men and children, including unaccompanied children, fleeing the conflict in Ukraine within the framework of the two Early Childhood Development Complexes in Sofia and Plovdiv.

The main activities of the project are:
– Organization of protected spaces for group and individual activities with children. By the end of June 2023, 400 children will participate in various group and socialization activities, which are organized in the two complexes in Sofia and Plovdiv and in an off-site space.
– Provision of humanitarian aid and „Dignity“ packages. 470 newborns, children and women will receive food and hygiene packages as part of the aid will be individualized according to the stated needs of the users.
– Specialized therapeutic services for children. The project will provide sessions with a psychologist, speech therapist, and organize music therapy groups as needed.
– Mutual help groups for mothers. The groups will include 100 women who will also receive specialized support from a psychotherapist.

Thanks to the partnership with IRC, the Foundation is strengthening the capacity of the Mission Ukraine programme and increasing its ability to support children and families fleeing conflict.
